Sigma Control
Based on an industrial PC with Intel processors, the SIGMA
control is a compressor controller designed to optimise energy
efficiently whilst significantly increasing operational reliability.
The system can constantly log and process performance data and
checking that the compressor precisely fulfils working requirements.
It is easily adapted to changing operational conditions, even
after installation, via programmed compressor control modes.
The provision of open system architecture and communication
interfaces means that the SIGMA control can just as easily communicate
with modern data systems as with older compressors that do not
possess these controllers. These interfaces also provide remote
access of current and stored data in the compressor via a modem
and telephone network with huge potential benefits to the user.
Sigma Control Basic
The new "Sigma Control Basic" compressor controller
is now fitted as standard to screw compressors in the 2.2 to
22 kilowatt power range. Developed in close co-operation with
Siemens, this multi-function controller is specially designed
for applications with lower air demand and enables flexible,
efficient operation.
Smaller companies or users that employ the SX and SM series
can take full advantage of the efficient energy saving SIGMA
profile and also the benefits of a computer controlled compressor.
Sigma Air Manager
Modern compressed air systems are subject to a variety of requirements.
It is not enough just to produce air in the specified quantity
and quality; prime consideration must be given also to reliability
and low energy consumption. The interaction between several
compressors and air treatment components in a compressed air
system must be coordinated, paying particular attention to the
interplay of the compressors themselves. This is where the greatest
energy savings can be made.
Simple base-load sequencers of conventional design are no longer
capable of performing such complex tasks. This is where the
capabilities of an intelligent master controller, such as the
Sigma Air Manger, are needed that can not only select and switch
compressors but can handle the more future-oriented tasks of
compressed air management, cost management and communication.
